A guy goes to the doctor and finds out he is dead, but he has no time to take care of it. This might sound like the beginning of an unfunny joke, but instead it is the premise to The Clouds of the Ceiling: a guy goes to the doctor and discovers that he is dead.
Only it’s not as if much has changed for him from when he was alive: everyday life goes on as before, he has to come to terms with a repetitiveness more comforting than happy.
In his debut graphic novel Roberto Biadi hides under a lighthearted approach the big questions about life: what does feeling alive really mean? And, above all, who makes us feel alive?
